The past couple of years we've spent Father's Day camping, and so it's become tradition. We camp at Soapstone with my brother Tom and his family, and usually my sister and her girls. This year my sister had to work, so we just took the girls. We were a little nervous about the weather, but it was good all weekend. Highs in the high 70's to low 80's and the lows in the 30's. Thank heaven for trailers and heaters! It was a good time. We stayed for from Friday to Monday...crazy! The kids absolutely love it, though.
On Sunday the kids colored pictures for their Dads and sang "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home." I think the Dads got a kick out of it. Then we went to try to find a fishing spot. We couldn't find one that wasn't frozen or had too many people at it. So we settled for a cute little fish farm that the kids got to catch one guaranteed fish. Olivia caught her first fish!
The kids had a lot of fun riding their bikes, making new friends, hiking, going for drives, playing in the snow (there was still 4 feet of snow off the road by Mirror Lake), and wading in a little stream that was by our camp.
